Hola y bienvenidos a la clase de español 1

Hola y bienvenidos.  I’m excited to be teaching at Coronado High again this year.

I grew up mostly in Sacramento, California. I became interested in Latin America during high school and then went to U.C. Santa Barbara where I majored in Spanish and Environmental Studies.  I was fortunate enough to do an education abroad program in Chile during my junior year in college.  After I received my B.A, I joined the Peace Corps in Panamá where I worked as an Environmental Education volunteer.  I taught a few years after getting back to the states, and then I got my master’s at Hamline University in St. Paul, MN.

I met my wife while in the Peace Corps and we now have two wonderful daughters Maya (10) and Sophia (7).  We moved to Colorado Springs in 2009 from Farmington, New Mexico.  We love to go camping and hiking and enjoy the natural beauty of Colorado Springs.  I also try to run and play tennis whenever possible.

Spanish has given and continues to give me a variety of unique experiences, and I hope I can be a catalyst in your journey toward Spanish language acquisition.
