Vade Mecum
The Framework of a Positive Learning Environment |
|
I want to have fun with you, I want you to be successful in this class, and I want you to love science as much as I do. In order to make this happen, we have to lay out some guidelines. You might call it a compass – something to keep us on course as we explore our world and help us arrive at our goals at the end of the journey. So that you can LEARN… So that you ENJOY learning… So that I can ENJOY TEACHING you… The following handouts outline what I expect of every student in my class each day. Each of these handouts should be kept in the Vade Mecum section of your science binder. This section is sort of like a "How To" guide. All of these handouts will be distributed and discussed in class. Please make sure you have a copy of each of these handouts in your binder at all times. If you loose one, you can print out another copy from here. SPECIAL NOTICE: I am in the process of updating all of the handouts for my class for the 2011-2012 school year. You may read over the materials posted below, but I will update, post, and hand out revised versions as we go over the rules, procedures, and expectations in class.
