Intro to Enviro Sci Vocab

At the bottom of this page, you will see a list of words. Theses are Latin and Greek root words. Read the following instructions for today's assignment:

  1. Copy and paste the list of words into your Word document.
  2. Visit the Latin-Greek Cross Refernce Search Engine.
  3. For each term in your list, use the searhc engine to determine whether it is a Latin or Greek root word.
  4. Using the Latin-Greek search engine, determine and type the literal Latin or Greek meaning of the root word.
  5. Look through the list of terms that contain the root word and select at least 3 examples of words that contain this root word.
    • Type each example word into your document.
    • Be sure to include the definition for each term.
    • Try and choose terms that you are at least a little familiar with or that have something to do with environmental science.
    • If there are several pages of exmaple words, do not choose all of your terms from the first page.
    • BE ORIGINAL!!!
  6. EXTRA CREDIT: Add a small image or picture that helps to represent your root word.
  7. Print your work and put it in the vocab section of your binder.
  8. Study your vocab list tonight!
