NoodleBib and Uploading

Mrs. Flynt will walk all new students through today’s assignment on the overhead projector, step-by-step. You must KEEP UP and PAY ATTENTION to the details or you will lose points on today’s assignment! If you fall more than one step behind, ask a neighbor for help. Keep this tab open and refer back to it OFTEN!

1.   Create a new NoodleBib account if you have not yet done so, OR log into your old, existing account.

2.   Create a new NoodleBib list. For the description, call it NoodleBib Practice.

3.   Start a citation for the current events article that you have been reading in class. You must include the name of the magazine, the article title, all authors, the page numbers for the article, and an annotation. If you are missing important information, get your magazine from Mrs. Flynt.

4.   For the annotation, briefly describe the subject of your article in 2 or three sentences.

5.   Visit this National Geographic website on Tsunamis and cite this website in NoodleBib as well. You should be able to fill in 6 fields as well as an annotation describing the webpage content.

6.   Click on the Share button on the your NoodleBib list with Mrs. Flynt. On the Share Options page, type the following info:

Sharing:          NoodleBib Practice

My Name: First Name Last Name and Class Period

Class Name: Flynt Enviro

7.   Use the “Save as Word Doc” function to save the list you have created in Microsoft Word 97-2003 format.

Your title should be in this format:

First Name Last Initial Class Period Assignment Title Date

Example:

File Name: James A 1st NoodleBib Practice 100209

Save as Type: Word 97-2003 Document (*.doc)

IMPORTANT: Do NOT use any symbols (NO periods, dashes, slashes, quotes, exclamation points, dollar signs, percent signs, number signs, or parentheses) in your assignment title!!!!

8.   Upload your document to the correct class message board on our class website.

9.   Print a copy of your document and place it in the correct colored folder on table beneath bulletin board.

10.        Return to the National Geographic page on tsunamis and explore what’s there.
