March is beginning of the TAKS testing season for our third, fourth, and fifth graders. Due to testing security and protocol, the campus is closed to all visitors (kinder-5th). Please choose other days to volunteer in the workroom, visit classrooms, or eat lunch in the cafeteria with your child. Birthday parties will also be postponed on TAKS testing days. You will need to make alternate arrangements for a birthday celebration date. Students are not allowed to have cell phones/ two way devices in the classroom on test days. All cell phones/two way devices must be OFF and left in their backpacks on test days. Students are not allowed to talk about the test or get assistance from anyone on testing days. This is a chance for them to show their knowledge. On test days, please encourage your child with a pat on the back, a hug and kiss. It is beneficial for the test taker to have a good night's rest and a nutritious breakfast.
Test Dates Wednesday, March 3rd: 4th Grade Writing TAKS Tuesday, April 6th: 5th Grade Math TAKS Wednesday, April 7th: 5th Grade Reading TAKS Tuesday, April 27th: 3rd and 4th Grade Math TAKS Wednesday, April 28th: 3rd and 4th Grade Reading TAKS, Day 1 of Reading Bundle Thursday, April 29th: 5th Grade Science TAKS; 3rd and 4th Grade Day 2 of the Reading Bundle Tuesday, May 18th: Retests in 5th Grade Math TAKS (any fifth grader that didn't pass the first round) Wednesday, May 19th: Retests in 5th Grade Reading TAKS (any fifth grader that didn't pass the first round).
Credit By Exam Applications will be available from the school counselor between April 1 and 15. All applications are due by April 15. All testing will be done on the school campus in May. Further information is available at the Frisco ISD website.
