Welcome to the Ferguson Physical Science Website! If you can think of anything that you would like me to add to the website feel free to give me a call at extension 1295 or shoot me an e-mail: ferguson_austin@mail.hillsboro.k12.mo.us There are many areas to the website that I know you will find of great value: assignments, notes, labs, etc... My goal is to make the website not just a tool for me, as the teacher, to connect with parents, but also a learning tool and resource for the students. I am available after school each day until at least 3 PM [unless otherwise notified in class] and can even meet before school if necessary for tutoring, test re-takes, or corrections. The 20011-2012 school year is my first here at Hillsboro but I am quickly learning to love the district. I student taught biology and chemistry at Oakville Sr. High School in the Mehlville School District in 2011. While there I was co-sponsor for the Invisible Children Activism Campaign. I currently sponsor Nerd Society at the high school, an organization of students who share similar interests in comic books, video/card games, literature, and films. I focus my daily classroom expectations around effort and a sense of community. I am very passionate about science and strongly believe that all students have the capacity to flourish in this subject with practice, dedication, practice, and practice. Emphasis on practice. I attended Saint Louis University where I majored in biology and minored in chemisty. I am currently attending the University of Missouri - Saint Louis where I am finishing my first masters in education with unified science certification.
