HOMEWORK

Current Unit of Study

We are currently reviewing and preparing for our upcoming STAAR test.  Remember - STAAR Math test is on Tuesday, March 27th. :)

The STAAR Test

We do have a new state assessment test this year called STAAR (State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness).  However, our TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills) have remained the same.  The TEKS are what students need to know, the STAAR is the way we assess wether or not they have learned it.  If you want to know what your child is learning in fifth grade, you need to look at the TEKS.  You can access the fifth grade math TEKS along with other valuable resources on the Texas Education Agency (TEA) website at:

Below you will find the "related files" section.  I have attached files holding useful information for at home study and review.  These items may or may not have been presented in class.  Parents always ask how they can help out at home.  The items below are a good place to start.
