Classroom News

 In math, we are finishing our unit on 2 digit addition with regrouping. The children did EXCELLENT!! They quickly picked up the rules for carrying. After break we'll begin 2 digit subtraction with regrouping. Keep practicing those subtraction facts.  :)

We've completed most of the research for our reports. Now we will begin the writing. We are looking forward to completing our class book.

Social Studies

In Social Studies, are have been doing a great deal of map work. We are learning how to make and read maps. We will begin learning about different types of communities including our own.

In reading, the children are using the McGraw Hill series. In addition to this, the children are reading and working at their independent reading levels with both fiction and nonfiction books from our new leveled library.

We will begin literacy workstations as soon as the children are ready. These workstations allow the children to practice literacy skills already taught in class both in small groups and individually.
