First things first. I have been teaching first grade for over 35 years and I find first graders to be fun, inquisitive, smart, and thoroughly enjoyable. Each year is a new adventure and a new challenge and I wouldn't trade it, or them, for the world.  There are a lot of changes this year and we'll explore them together.

Please check the subheadings for each page.  They will give you information as to what is on each page.

******** Manatee site   We're learning about manatees as part of our 'ee' sound.  Here's a great site with lots of pictures, activities, and videos.    http://www.savethemanatee.org/default.html

********Here's a link to a great new site for exploring science (animals and the earth and space)  The information is read to the children and they can click on colored words to find out what they mean.  There are also short video clips included.  It's quickly becoming a class favorite.

**** New Site Portal ****  If you click on the following link, it will take you to my Parent/Student Site Portal, a place where I can store sites for you to check. It is a work in progress but I do have a number of sites there already. When you get to      http://portaportal.com/    type mrshudolin in the guest section. There is an arrow next to the topic title.  Click on that, and the sites will come up.

The purpose of this website is to let you, the parents, see what's happening in our classroom.  It also provides the opportunity for other teachers to view projects and find resources for their own classrooms.  This will continually be a work in progress and I hope you check back often to see the changes.  The blog will start up at the end of the week and the student reviews of 'must read' books will begin as soon as possible.
