• Theme:  "Silly Stories" (to begin on 9/21)
• Phonics Principles:  Homophones, synonyms
  
• Reading Comprehension Strategies:  Summarizing, making predictions, understanding character traits
  
• Introduction to Reader's Workshop:  Writing book reviews, literary letters, and "thick" questions.  We are also learning about "Post-It" reading.
• Introduction to grammar and editing.

Mathematics

• Review basic addition, using doubles facts to add, adding 3 numbers.
• Introduction to Problem of the Day
• Introduction to Math 4 Today

Social Studies

• Constitution Day
• Our Country Today:  Rules and laws, our government
