Hello and welcome! I am extremely excited to begin my second year as a Mustang! Well...I wasn't always a Mustang. I started out my teaching career in "wild and wonderful" West Virginia. After earning a master's degree in education with a specialization in special education, I decided to leave the mountains for the southern life in Charlotte, North Carolina. After teaching third grade for three years, my husband came across a job opportunity in the tech industry here in Austin. The idea of moving so far away from my friends and family was difficult, but I absolutely love it here in Texas. Texas is a fabulous state for outdoor activities! You can find me practicing yoga, mountain biking, hiking, or kayaking on the weekends (when it isn't 105 degrees) and playing with my wonderful Pitt bull rescues: Tybee and Li-Li. As for indoor activities, I love to read adult and young adult literature, and on Sundays I am busy watching the Pittsburgh Steelers rock the field. GO STEELERS!
