WOW! We have reached the 100th Day of school. Can you believe it? What has your child learned in 100 days of kindergarten. That is one of the questions that I will be asking them as we complete "academic" activities for the 100th day! Some of our activities for the day include: Counting 100 Fruit Loops and making it into a edible necklace, making trail mix with 100 pieces, making a design with their names on a 100 chart, blowing up 100 balloons, showing their 100 day projects, estimating how far 100 linking cubes will go, naming 100 words we can write, and the list goes on.
Thank you to all who visited our classroom last week for Catholic Schools Week. What a great week it was having so many visitors. I hope everyone enjoyed their classroom experience.
This week we will continue our story Hyde Clyde to catch up on what we missed last week due to all the activity. We will not have a new letter this week, but will continue working with the short o and introducing short o word families. This is our third vowel sound which is really allowing the students to fly along with reading.
In the next week or so I will be completing reading assessments with the students to determine their reading levels. This will help you to find books that your child can comfortably read and those books that will challenge them a "little, but not too much".
As always, if you have any questions please feel free to contact us.
Sincerely, Mrs. Dana Hilmoe and Mrs. Suzy Cochran St. Mary Catholic School Please contact me via email anytime.
