Counseling

As the counselor at Corbell Elementary, I have many different

responsibilities:

Testing Coordinator:  This means that I am responsible for all standardized

and state testing in the building, including TAKS.

Classroom Guidance:  I will schedule lessons to teach children in the

classroom.  I will plan with the teachers what character skills they would

like their students to learn.  (examples: getting along with each other, how

to be a good friend, strangers, etc).

Small Group Counseling:  Small groups will be formed as needed based on

friendship, anger, adjustments, etc. with parent permission.

Individual Counseling:  Crisis and short-term counseling may be provided for

students who are having trouble learning due to emotional difficulties with

parent permission. There are times when students need some additional support.  Frisco ISD compiles a list of people who have contacted the district and offer services in this general area.  This list is a courtesy and is not a complete or comprehensive list of agencies or therapist's/counselor's in this area  This is not a referral from the school, just a courtesy for everyone.  Before hiring any private therapist/counselor or agency, you should investigate and satisfy yourself in all particulars concerning such person or agency.
