Counseling

As the Counselor at Corbell Elementary, I have many different

responsibilities:

Testing Coordinator:  This means that I am responsible for all standardized

and state testing in the building, including CoGAT, ITBS, and STAAR.

Classroom Guidance:  I schedule lessons usually once a month for 20-30 minutes in the classroom.

Examples of topics include: getting along with each other, how

to be a good friend, anti-bullying, etc.  During Testing times guidance availablity varies.

Small Group Counseling:  Small groups will be formed as needed based on

friendship, anger, adjustments, etc. with parent permission.

Individual Counseling:  Crisis and short-term counseling may be provided for

students who are having trouble learning due to emotional difficulties with

parent permission. There are times when students need some additional support.  Frisco ISD compiles a list of people who have contacted the district and offer services in this general area.  This list is a courtesy and is not a complete or comprehensive list of agencies or therapist's/counselor's in this area  This is not a referral from the school, just a courtesy for everyone.  Before hiring any private therapist/counselor or agency, you should investigate and satisfy yourself in all particulars concerning such person or agency.
