Welcome to Reading Olympics
February 1-26

Plan to participate in a four week Reading Olympics, an adventure guaranteed to encourage students to read at home.  Oral reading, silent reading and being read to counts for all grade levels.  Keep track of the minutes read at home (not at school) on the reading form with date and title of book.  Have it checked and signed by a parent and turn it in to a teacher's envelope any day of the week.  Start a new form after 100 points are recorded.  Extra forms are available from the library or your teacher.

All forms are tallied on Fridays and point coupons are awarded on Mondays.  You may use your points to "purchase" prizes at the Reading Store in the library on scheduled days.

If Centennial school reaches the goal of 200,000 minutes read by our students, Mrs. Drummer will wear a Sumo wrestler costume and do a dance before the entire student body!  Centennial, start reading!

Used Book Sale will be held on Thursday, February 25th.  Students will have an opportunity to purchase wonderful books on that day.  Centennial is accepting any donations of gently used books to use in the sale.

Character Day will be held on the last school day of the month, February 26.  Come dressed as your favorite book character or Dr. Seuss character.
