Developing writers

Make them laugh to help them remember... That is the motivation behind the beginners class efforts to create funny stories together.  We have written (and read) three so far.  Click "I'm going to school" to see a sample.

In the picture to the left, the second graders are working through the writing process to create a story with a beginning, middle, and end.

Some students in 4 and 6 grades have been using the writing process to create narrative stories and descriptions.  Stop by our classroom to see their work on display.  They're quite interesting!

Third Graders perform

After reading an unusual version of The Three Little Pigs, the girls in Third grade ESL mounted a production of the classic version.  They  performed for grades 2 and 3.  The girls worked very hard to memorize lines and movements and it showed.  Everyone loved the performance.  A video of the performance will be posted soon.  (I'm having trouble converting the file from my camera to the computer.)

Grades 5 and 6 share the gift of reading

On October 29 and 30, we had our second "Buddy Reading" with the Pre-K and Kindergarten.  The older students read various childrens' books with expression and clarity.  To the right, you will see Priscila reading to Tomas and Aaron.  Below are some more pictures from our most recent reading.
