What's New in Fourth Grade? (For the Week of February 16th)
Math-We are working on a mini-unit focusing on mean, median, mode, and range. Science-Chapter 4 deals with slow changes to Earth’s surface, focusing on the processes of erosion, weathering and deposition. We will be reviewing this week and testing the following week. Writing-Response to Literature is the writing genre we are currently working on. Students have been reviewing the district rubric and student samples to analyze the most important components of a well-written response to literature essay. Other announcements: Thursday, February 18th from 7-8 pm there will be a budget meeting here at Woodbury in the MPR. With the massive cuts coming our way next year (projected $23.8 million), it is important to be current with our information of what changes may occur to our school. I would like to encourage you to make an effort to attend this meeting to hear more about the current financial crisis facing our school district and our school and find out ways that you can help ensure that our children continue to receive the finest education possible! Together, we can make a difference! Important Dates: March 4th - 2nd Trimester Report Cards sent home March 9th - 12th - Parent Conference Week, Dismiss at 1:20 (Tues.-Fri.)
