Now that we are starting the third quarter, our sixth graders are half way to becoming seventh graders. As the school work becomes more rigorous, I would hope that families are encouraging students to become more responsible and independent with the student's school work. As their teacher, I hope to prepare them for seventh grade challenges by giving students the skills they need to become students who advocate for themselves and take responsibility for their learning. Please support this effort by encouraging your child to hold themselves accountable for their learning.
We are working on book reports. The assignment is due Monday, Feb. 22nd. Please make sure your student is reading and allowing enough time to write their report.
Sixth graders are entering a writing contest on what makes Rochester special. All entries are due to Ms. Rothfuss for a writing grade on Monday, Feb. 8th. Good luck!!!
Please feel to email or call me at the school. It is important to maintain open communication and have family involvement for the success of our sixth grade students.
