Center for Puppetry Arts-Gingerbread Boy The kindergarten students were able to make their own Gingerbread Boy shadow puppet while learning about the ingredients and history of gingerbread. The also were read the story of "The Gingerbread Boy" acted out by shadow puppets.(BOCES)
Bronx Zoo/Wildlife Conservation Society-Animal Color The first grade students were able to learn about the role that color plays in survival of animals, including camouflage, warding off predators and attracting a mate.(BOCES)
Challenger Learning Center Brownsburg-Living and Working in Space The second grade students experienced the life of an astronaut and learned about how astronauts perform daily activities in micro-gravity conditions.(BOCES)
Columbus Zoo and Aquarium-Underwater Expedition The second grade students learned how the zoo recreates ocean habitats for a variety of sea creatures. (BOCES)
Bronx Zoo/Wildlife Conservation Society-Moves and Meals The third grade students explored the many different ways animals move, and learned how various herbivores, carnivores and omnivores slither, paddle, hop, fly, run and swing to find their food.(BOCES)
Center for Puppetry Arts-Tropical Rain Forest The third grade students constructed a tropical bird rod puppet as they explored the locations of rain forests, the equator and tropic lines, the different layers of rain forests and their characteristics, and the various animals found there. (BOCES)
LEARNnco-Magnetism The fourth grade students explored the concept of magnetism through experiments with magnetic properties and substances. (BOCES)
