Welcome to the 2011-2012 School Year!

It is going to be a great year at Breton Downs Elementary. We have a wonderful school because of our special students, caring staff, and supportive families. The PTA is important to our school because it sponsors many of the programs, events, and activities for our students, parents, and staff that contribute to the memorable learning experiences for all of our children. Below are a few ways you can show your support to Breton Downs and the PTA.  

1.     Join the Breton Downs PTA - A PTA membership form (included in this packet of information) can be submitted prior to the start of the school year or on the first day of school.

2.     Volunteer your time and talents - The PTA Volunteer Sign-Up Form (included) is available online on the Breton Downs PTA website: http://teachersites.schoolworld.com/webpages/BretonDownsPTA/

3.     2011-2012 Fundraising Opportunities - The PTA is excited to have some valuable and FUN fundraising efforts this year. Mark your calendars and look for additional information in the days and weeks to come.

a.     Entertainment Book Sale – on sale September 9 – September 23 (also available on the first day of school)

b.     Sally Foster Gift Wrap Sale – from October 5 – October 21

c.     Breton Boogie (Dance-a-Thon) – February 8, 2012

Also, the PTA will host a Parent Orientation on the first day of school from 8:00 – 8:45 a.m., (prior to the Flag Raising Ceremony). This will take place in the gym and allow parents the opportunity to complete and turn in all forms and monies, sign up for classroom parties, volunteer for PTA events and as classroom helpers, purchase Hearts of Gold t-shirts and Entertainment books, and many other things.

The Breton Downs PTA website: http://teachersites.schoolworld.com/webpages/BretonDownsPTA/ is a good place to learn more about the PTA and Breton Downs events.  There is also a link to our website on the Breton Downs homepage, http://breton.egrps.org/. Our website includes the PTA calendar, handbook and forms, future events, PTA meeting minutes and other important information.  Also, look for the weekly PTA update - Bulldog Blast. The Blast, sent out every Monday, highlights upcoming activities and information.
