Hello, I am Cheryl Hendrix, your School Counselor at Boals Elementary. This is my 5th year at Boals and every year I am excited to make new friends and keep the old.

Guidance Lessons

I love going to the classrooms and teaching Guidance lessons about character skills. This year we will base our Character Skills program on Coach John Wooden's Pyramid for success. I suggest you check out the book "Inch and Miles" by Coach Wooden to learn more details about the character skills.

Lunch Bunch

I have different topics for meetings of the lunch bunch. We work on general social skills such as; making friends, anger management, self control. For 3rd-5th graders I offer a "Girls Circle" or "Guys Group" to work on peer relationship issues. A student can be reccomended by a parent, teacher or themselves.

Testing

I am the Testing Coordinator for our school. If you have any questions about TAKS, ITBS, or CogAt, I am the one to see.
