Australia Research Project - the goal is to produce a Travel Guide Brochure to sell your field trip service to clients - persuasive writing techniques will need to be used

http://australia.gov.au – this website will be your launching point. Use it wisely. It will provide you with a wealth of information and a wealth of links to other useful sources.

http://www.travelocity.com/ - this website will provide you with airfare costs and travel time

You and two other people are Travel Guides planning a field trip to Australia’s national capital, or to one of the state capitals. Select the city that will be the destination of your field trip and plan your field trip. You are competing against other travel guides who want customers just like you, so you need to persuade your clients that your field trips are the best so that they will bring their business to you. You must include, at least, the information listed below.

Your field trip format should be in the form of a booklet or a three-fold brochure.

Pictures may be copied from the computer, but they should be small and support your text information. Hand drawn pictures are preferable, but they do take more time to complete. Collect all digital pictures on one Microsoft Word sheet. All pictures should have captions identifying what they illustrate or represent.

If you include only the information for questions 1-15, with no development of your information, your grade can be no higher than a 75%.

If you include the information for questions 1-15 and develop your information with details, your grade can go as high as 85%.

If you include at least 5 more pieces of well developed information, questions 16-20, your grade can go as high as 100%

Spelling, complete sentences, capitalization, punctuation, subject-verb agreement, etc. do count.

Online work will commence on January 4, 2012 and continue through January 11

January 12 and 13 will be final production draft days

Your field trip plans must include, at a minimum, information about the following:

1) destination city

2) absolute location of destination city

3) relative location of destination city

5) state within which city is located

6) landforms found in and around city
