April News in Grade 2 Religion We will be discussing the parts of the Mass and how to participate in the Mass. We will also be preparing for receiving the Eucharist. Math Please see the attached newsletter 12 to see what we are learning in Math this month. Language Arts We are beginning the last reading unit in second grade-unit 6. We will be switching math and reading teachers on April 16. In Grammar, we will be learning about contractions, quotation marks, and the use of commas. We are very excited about how well the children are progressing in their cursive writing. We have a few more uppercase letters to learn and then we will be writing everything in cursive. The children will be required to write their spelling tests in cursive beginning in May. Spelling April 16-20-unit 6-week 1 April 23-27-unit 6-week 2 April 30-May 4-unit 6-week 3 Upcoming events--- April 3 and 4- Children’s Village-drop off at Children’s Village-1546 Mt. Aetna Road- between 8:45/9:00 and pick up is at 1:30. Bring a lunch and a drink. Come out of uniform. April 5-Know a fact about your assigned Apostle for the “Last Supper.” April 16- send in 6 large stuffed eggs for tomorrow’s egg hunt April 17- egg hunt and pizza party at Hagerstown City Park. We are leaving school at 11:45. We will be leaving the park about 2:00. Dress in gym uniform. Pizza and drinks will be provided. April 18- Refrew trip-We will be leaving school at 8:30 and returning about 2:30. Bring a lunch and a drink. Dress appropriately for the weather.
