From Spring Break!!! Please remember to vote this week - Tuesday April 17th is the School Budget Election! Please remember to send in your supplies: 1 bottle of bubbles Wipes, baby or clorax tissues glue sticks scotch tape refills Thank-you in advance Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss! On March 2nd, we, together with the National Education Association celebrated Dr. Seuss's 108th birthday and the 55th anniversary of The Cat in the Hat! On this day, teachers try to educate children about the great and wonderful contribution of Dr. Seuss to children's literacy. Our Pre-K morning class had a special visitor come and read - Mrs. Green (Nova's mom) made a special trip and read - Green Eggs and Ham! We really enjoyed the story. We still don't think we want to try green eggs do you? Thank you Mrs. Green we always enjoy your visits! Our afternoon class had a special visitor as well. It was Julian's dad, Mr. Alban. He read the wonderful story, The Lorax. We enjoyed the story and are very excited about the movie coming out soon! We keep seeing the commercials on television - can't wait! Thank you Mr. Alban - so glad you came to read - and thanks for helping with dismissal of students! This week we also listened to the story, One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. After the story we cut out some fish and glued them to a plate. We completed our project by writing the number of fish in our dish! Another classic Dr. Seuss story we listened to was My Many Colored Days. We discussed how a color can also mean how we are feeling. We talked about how we were feeling and made a self portrait using a color to show how we felt that day. Some responses were "Brown because I am tired." "Pink because I am happy." "Green because I am coughing, and Red because I am mad." Next week we will listen to some "Blues" music. Have a nice weekend.
