          What is Allen Choir all about?

Who?  Allen Choir is made up of 4th and 5th grade students. 

When?  4th grade members rehearse on Thursday's before school from 7:15a.m.-7:45a.m.  5th grade members rehearse on Tuesday's before school from 7:15a.m. - 7:45a.m.  We will meet every week unless otherwise notified.

Choir will begin September 13th (5th Grade) and September 15th (4th Grade)

Where?  Rehearsals will be in the Music Room.

Purchase a Choir t-shirt when forms are sent home, come to choir and you're a member!

Commitment- Being in choir means being commited to reahearsals, only 3 abscences per semester are allowed in order for a member to perform with us.  Please see the Choir Handbook at the bottom for details on expectations.

 May 2012- Frisco SongFest  Time, and Place TBD

 

 

Choir Handbook

5th Grade rehearsals are every Tuesday at 7:15a.m.-7:45a.m.

4th Grade rehearsals are every Thursday at 7:15a.m.-7:45a.m.

Extra rehearsals may be required before a performance.

We will observe school holidays.

 We will begin choir on September 12th (5th Grade) & September 14th (4th Grade) Rehearsals will be in the Music Room

UNIFORM All students will need to buy an Allen Choir Shirt to serve as a uniform for performances. An order form will be sent home with your student on the first day of choir, and will also be available to print off online. Students should wear nice blue jeans (not Capri pants) with their choir shirt to all performances.

ARRIVAL Students need to be dropped of in the car pool lane at 7:15a.m. I will be opening the door at 7:15a.m. Any students arriving before will have to wait to enter the building. Our time is important so any students arriving later than 7:20a.m. will receive a tardy. Absence Rule Allen Choir members are required to be at rehearsals once a week for 30 minutes. This limits practice time as a group. If a student has more than 3 unexcused absences for choir rehearsal, they will not be able to participate in Allen Choir for the remainder of that semester. If a student misses school he/she will be excused from choir rehearsal. Parent notes or contact is requested if an absence is expected.

Tardy Rule A tardy will be given if a student arrives after 7:20a.m. 3 tardies will be equal to one absence.

Expectations Behavior- Respectful behavior is expected of each student. Any display of disrespectful behavior will result in consequences. Materials- Students are expected to have their uniform for all performances. Students will not be allowed to perform without his/her choir shirt and proper attire. Consequences- If a student earns a total of three consequences in a semester due to poor behavior; he/she will be dismissed from the choir.
