Takehiro Ueyama: Choreographer-dancer Takehiro Ueyama founded the TAKE Dance Company in 2004, in New York City. Mr. Ueyama’s choreography has been performed for audiences worldwide. Born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, Mr. Ueyama moved to the United States to study at The Juilliard School in New York. As a member of the Paul Taylor Dance Company from 1995 to 2003, he toured extensively throughout the United States, Europe, South America and Asia. Mr. Ueyama teaches contemporary dance technique in several of the major dance schools, universities and festivals throughout the United States, Japan, and Europe.
Christopher Vo is honored to be appearing with Lubovitch Company this season. He received a BFA in 2008 from the Juilliard School under the direction of Lawrence Rhodes. He is a Presidential Scholar in the Arts, 2004; the winner of the Martha Hill Young Artist Award, 2005; and a recipient of the Princess Grace Dance Scholarship, 2007. Over the past few years, Vo has danced the works of distinguished artists and choreographers such as Robert Battle, Janis Brenner, Anouk Van Dijk, Eliot Feld, William Forsythe, Adam Hougland, Jessica Lang, José Limón, Ohad Naharin, Twyla Tharp, and Doug Varone. He is a proud graduate of the Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas. Christopher wishes to thank his family and friends for their love and support. He is currently touring with Twyla Tharp in Come Fly With Me.
Andy Noble is an Assistant Professor of Dance at Sam Houston State University. He has also served as faculty at the University of South Florida and Western Washington University as well as been a guest artist at numerous other universities across the country. He holds a BA in Modern Dance from the University of South Florida and a MFA with an emphasis in Dance Technology from Florida State University.
Andy’s performing career includes six years with Repertory Dance Theatre (RDT), where he performed in over forty choreographic works by such noted masters as Martha Graham, Merce Cunningham and Jose Limon. He also had the honor of working first-hand with many cutting edge contemporary and international artists such as Gideon Obarzanek (Chunky Move), Jø Strømgren and Zvi Gotheiner. Andy has also been a member of the Demetrius Klein Dance Company in Miami, Florida.
Andy has received numerous grants for his choreography. He has been commissioned to choreograph new works for RDT, Paradigm Dance Company, Florida Dance Festival, Moving Current, Bellingham Repertory Dance Company, University of Utah, Dartmouth University, Florida State University, University of South Florida, Brigham Young University and University of North Texas among others.
In the realm of technology, Andy is co-director of ANDancers Video Productions, a free-lance service providing documentation and promotional videos for art organizations. He also created and designed a multi-media component for Repertory Dance Theatre that chronicles a century of dance. His most recent research was as part of the creative team that developed ChoreoVideo.com, a web-based media resource designed to promote innovative instruction in the area of dance technology.
