Frequently Asked Questions

We have compiled a list of our most FAQs in order to help put you and your preschooler at ease. Please feel free to email us if we have not answered a question you may have.

How do I register my child for preschool?

Please call the main office at 895-3117 and tell them you would like to have your child added to the preschool list.  Every year we have an extremely long waiting list and it is important you call and have your child added as soon as possible.

What are the preschool hours of operation?

The morning session runs from 8:30 am until 11:00 am and the afternoon session runs from 12:30 pm until 3:00 pm.

What does my child need to bring to school?

Your child will need a backpack, a change of clothes and a snack (see below). If your child is not potty trained, then you will also need to send in diapers and wipes. We provide your child with a take-home folder that we use for daily communication. Please make sure to send it in with your child daily and let us know if it gets torn/misplaced so we can try to get you a new one. 

Is there a snack time?

Both morning and afternoon classes have snack time. We ask that you only send ONE snack since there is not a lot of time to eat. We encourage you to have your child pick out his/her snack at home, by giving him/her a few choices of healthy snack items. The school provides a choice of milk, chocolate milk or juice, so you will not need to send a drink. If you have any questions or concerns, please ask.

IMPORTANT:  If your child has any food allergies, please make sure that we are aware of it!

Where do I drop-off/pick-up my child?

The drop-off and pick-up area is in the side parking lot by the gym doors. Both teachers will be out at pick-up and drop-off times to stay with children. If for some reason you are late, we ask that you bring your child into his/her classroom. Please let us know if someone else is picking up your child. We ask that you provide us with a written note indicating the name of the person and please make sure that he/she has his/her license so we can check identification to make sure there are no mistakes.

What do I do if my child is sick?

If your child is not feeling well, it is always safest to keep him/her home. We ask that along with calling the office, you please email or call you child's teacher since it gets very busy in the office and we sometimes don't get the message.

May I help out in the preschool?

Yes! We love to have help, but we ask you please let us know ahead of time so we can plan accordingly.

Can I bring in treats to celebrate my child's birthday?

Of course! We just ask that you let us know what day you will be sending in treats and that you make sure to bring enough for the entire class.

What should I do if I have questions about my child's progress?

Please call (or email) and make an appointment with your child's teacher.  We have an open-door policy and believe that excellent communication between the home and school is the only way to ensure that all children are successful.  We would be happy to meet with you before or after school to discuss any issue or concerns you may have.
