Concerts

Students in Kindergarten through 4th Grade and Choir will give two concerts each year. 

• Christmas Concert:  Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at 6:00 pm
• Spring Showcase:  Tuesday, April 19, 2010 @ 6:00 pm

Because music is a performance art, concerts are an essential part of our curriculum.  They allow students to showcase the skills and concepts that they have learned in music.  There is no better way to communicate these skills than by having a concert.

Our concerts this year will include a variety of holiday music and non-holiday music that students have been working on throughout the year.  They will be singing, playing instruments, dancing, and demonstrating creative movement.

We have a final rehearsal at 1:00 pm on the day of the concert.  Parents and community members who cannot attend the evening performance are welcome to attend the afternoon rehearsal.  Please check in at the school office upon arrival.

Because music is a performance art, we want our appearance to reflect the hard work and pride we take in our music.  School clothes are appropriate for the afternoon dress rehearsal.  We like to comfortably dress up a bit for the evening performance.  Please note that the gymnasium is usually very warm, so stick with cooler clothes.  Students will be standing and dancing during their performance, so nice comfortable shoes are a must.
