Our class is moving into a new book titles The Tiger Rising by Kate DeCamillo. We began the first few chapters and left off already with a cliffhanger. The book deals with grief, bullying, and love. I'm sure there'll be lots of discussion and activities to go along, including artwork. We'll be making tigers; and alas the swans will go home. I encourage the students to read books that we've already read in class. In June I will compile a list of our favorite authors.
