It is our pleasure to welcome to you to YOUR Awesome Allen 1st Grade Website! Here you will find information about happenings, announcements and so much more! Welcome to the 2009-2010 school year! Announcements for the month of February Class Valentine Parties are Friday, February 12th. Thursday, February 25th is Chick-fil-A Spirit DAY!! All Day you can mention Allen Elementary and our Awesome PTA will receive money from your purchase! This is at the Eldorado and Tollway location. Our social time is from 5 pm to 8 pm, when you can eat with other Allen families and staff members. Remember........Eat More Chicken!!!! Wear RED Day, Friday, February 5th in honor of Hearth Health Awarness!! Wear Red Day, Friday, February 12th to celebrate the end of Jump Rope for Heart week!!!! March Preview 1st grade study trip to the Dallas Aquarium, Tuesday, March 2nd. Please send your student to school in their Allen t-shirt and athletic shoes. We will not be shopping in the Gift Shop, please do not send extra money with your student.
We are collecting glass baby food jars, to be used for exciting projects throughout the year. If you have empty jars or know someone who does, please collect them and send them to school with your child in a grocery bag. We would love all sizes from any baby food manufacturer. Be sure to label all your child's belongings, i.e. backpack, lunchbox, jacket/coat/sweatshirts, hat, mittens/gloves, waterbottles, etc. before sending them to school. Teachers cannot be responsible for lost items that have not been labeled. If you would like to volunteer to help in our school, please fill out the FISD Volunteer Form (available online on the FISD website). We would love to have lots of volunteers.
